Designing and branding the interior of a new cruise ship for TUI.

The Arts House – Social Space Design for TUI Marella Cruise Ship

As part of a wider brief to design six new spaces aboard the TUI Marella cruise ship, The Arts House was conceived as the ship’s main social hub—a flexible 300-seat bar and communal lounge located at the heart of the vessel. Designed to transition effortlessly from day to night, the space needed to feel inviting, multifunctional, and vibrant.

Inspired by the clean forms and playful spirit of the Bauhaus era, the design features soft furnishings and stacked geometric shapes that visually guide guests through different offerings—ranging from shuffleboard and board games to live music and creative workshops. Colour, form, and layout come together to create a relaxed atmosphere with a sense of curated energy and openness.
